If your Windows XP computer is set to automatically recieve an IP Address from your DSL/Cable router and you recieve the following error.
Failed to query TCP/IP settings of the connection. Cannot proceed.
You will have to repair the TCP/IP Stack.
To do this try resetting your TCP/IP Stack to its default settings,
1: Click Start,
2: Click Run,
3: Type CMD to open a command prompt,
4: type the collowing in the command prompt window netsh int ip reset reset.log
Rest your WINSOCK entries to there default settings, WINSOCK is Windows networking.
1: in the same command prompt window type the folowing netsh winsock reset catalog
2: Reboot your computer.
Your computer should automatically recieve an IP Address.
